The Airbus 400 of the Air Force that left this Sunday from the Zaragoza air base has landed in Canada for the repatriation of the three survivors and the bodies of five of the deceased in the wreck of the Villa de Pitanxo fishing boat, which capsized last Tuesday on the Grand Bank of Newfoundland, about 460 kilometers east of San Juan.
After a seven and a half hour flight, the Airbus has arrived in Newfoundland in the middle of a heavy snow storm and is scheduled to to return to Spain this Monday, to the Santiago de Compostela airport, on a day in which there will be official mourning in Spain.
The president of the Government, Pedro Sanchezwill travel to Galicia to receive the plane in which the victims and survivors are traveling and will receive the relatives of the twelve missing sailors.
“Finally. He will receive us tomorrow in Santiago”, has confirmed Maria Jose de Pazodaughter of the chief engineer of that ship, Francisco de Pazo, the most veteran of the crew on board. The details of the meeting have yet to be finalized, De Paz pointed out, although they already have confirmation of the meeting with Sánchez.

The aircraft, in which ten crew members travel, has been received by the Spanish ambassador to Canada, Alfredo Martínez Serrano, and by the Spanish consular authorities in this country; since the shipwreck was reported, the honorary vice-consul was mobilized, until the arrival, a few hours later, from the Consul General of Spain in Montreal to the port of San Juan.
This Saturday the transfer to port of the three survivors and the nine deceased was completed, whom they have already identified to later transfer the information to the families.
The three surviving sailors and five of the recovered bodies -four Spaniards and one of the Ghanaian sailors- will be repatriated to Spain. The fifth Spaniard, Spanish-Peruvian, will be repatriated to Peru, like the other three identified Peruvian sailors.
The relatives of the disappeared ask that the search be reactivated
Thousands of people have gathered this Sunday in the Alameda de Marín (Pontevedra) to show their support for the relatives of the crew of the Villa de Pitanxo. At the concentration, the families have insisted on their request for “resume search as soon as possible” and they have assured that they will not stop or “forget” the disappeared.

The relatives of the twelve sailors who remain unaccounted for They keep demanding that the search be reactivatedafter the Canadian authorities had to suspend it, 36 hours after the shipwreck, due to the lack of possibilities of finding them alive and due to the very adverse weather conditions.
The President of the Government has guaranteed that the traces will resume when time permits something that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeu would have confirmed after a telephone conversation between the two last Friday.
